Our story starts over 30 years ago, with the stories told by elders about our ancestors while cooking the foods that has formed the life we have today. Since arriving to America, we have worked hard to preserve these stories and formed that spirit into the Shega Foods we bring to you today. For the last 20 years, we have been striving to deliver quality food with quality service with the love are care of our past generations. We offer the freshest spices for family dinners all the way to bulk requests. Our injera has been the #1 injeras provider in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area, and now available to the masses.

What does Jajja mean? In Uganda, Jajja means grandparent; an elder, with wisdom and life experiences to be respected and revered. Jajja’s Story: Jajja Margaret Luttaaya was born in 1939 in Uganda (East Africa). She was a pioneer, mixing ancient indigenous wisdom, organic fruits and other healthful ingredients to make and sell her famous delicious wellness tonics. Her energy and love went into every bottle. Today, Jajja’s grandson, Henry, carries on her legacy, making those same wellness tonics for all to enjoy and be healthy! Henry’s Story: Henry, an Ugandan immigrant and now a proud U.S. citizen, was raised by his Aunty from ages 5-17 after his parents, from illness and war, passed away. Henry moved to the U.S. after earning a scholarship to a university in Minnesota. Henry worked tirelessly in his studies of English and Business and finally achieved his Master’s degree. He met his wife, Alexandra, in 2008 and they now enjoy their two wonderful children and call Minnesota home. Soul wings, Hibiscus Punch, and more Though the St. Paul cafe location closed in February 2020, we are happy to announce that our product will be available online for delivery and in select retail stores (once they are open and safe) very soon. Heritage Tea & Beverage's signature products also remain available from our US Bank Stadium kiosk.
